The National Planning Commission (NPC) published the book “Method of Using Key Economic Indicators” on Tuesday. The NPC released the book during a program organized at Singha Durbar on Tuesday. The commission said that one of the important aspects of ensuring the constitutional right of the people to be informed is that the data or information produced by the state is published with the correct meaning while maintaining the quality.

“Citizens are always expecting accurate information about their interests, their community or the nation, and the state is producing and distributing official statistics by establishing a national statistics system to meet such expectations,” a press release issued by the commission said, “Only if the official statistics are accurate and of good quality can we get true information about the various events or facts related to the economic, social and environmental aspects of society and the state. Through this, policies, plans, programs at the local level, provincial or federal level are objective and need-based, and help to meet people’s expectations”

As an initiative to advance the statistical literacy program in a more effective manner, the e-copy of this book titled ‘Method of Using Key Economic Indicators’ has been published with the technical support of the Central Bureau of Statistics and with the financial support of Data for Development operated with the support of the UK Government and The Asia Foundation.

This e-book published in the Nepali language titled Methodology of Using Key Economic Indicators is basically a handbook aimed at economic methods. However, the book will be useful to anyone interested in the financial sector in addition to financial journalists. “We are absolutely confident. In this book, topics such as how to use data in scientific writing, how to use data in comparative studies, how to analyze and present data, how to write articles, how to interpret data, what to pay special attention to when studying survey reports, and various topics in the economic field  have been discussed while  explaining the indicators in detail.
