Kathmandu, January 17 : The Special Court has issued an order to release ex-Minister and Kalika Construction Company Chief Bikram Pandey on a bail amount of Rs 40 million.
A divisional bench of Special Court Chairperson Baburam Regmi and justices Chandiraj Dhakal and Narayan Prasad Pokharel issued the order on January 16 (Wednesday ) to release Pandey on bail.
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on 7 December 2018 had registered a corruption case against 21 persons including Pandey at the Special Court. The graft case was filed against Pandey and others for carrying out sub-standard works in the Sikta Irrigation Project.
The anti-graft body registered the case against Pandey on charge of doling out Rs 2.137 billion, demanding penalty of same amount of money and two years of jail term.
