Kathmandu, August 30: A team representing the SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council-SCWEC, Nepal has today left for Yangon, Burma to hold the exhibition of Nepali products there.
The 16-member team is led by Sarojani Sherchan, vice-chairperson of SCWEC, Nepal. The exhibition will be held on August 31 to September 1 in the premises of the Nepal Embassy, located at PyinOo Lin city in Yangon. It will display a number of Nepali products like handicrafts, lapsi candy, assorted clips, potes, churas, bed covers, cushion covers, daura suruwal, cholis , sandals, embroidered hand bags , antique gagri, khadkula etc.
According to Sherchan, the expo may see the transaction of such products worth Rs 1.6 million during the expo. Apart from organizing the expo, the team is also planning to promote the campaign of Visit Nepal Year 2020 in different cities of Burma.
SCWEC, Nepal is an autonomous body formed under the aegis of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry on March 29, 2001. SCWEC was set up with the main objective of promoting woman entrepreneurship in the SAARC region.
