Dhangadhi, June 21: Farmers of Karnali and Kanchanpur districts are facing an acute crunch of chemical fertilizers during the paddy plantation season. A local farmer Sewak Chaudhary complained that they were waiting for the fertilizers for paddy plantation but not getting so far, though the paddy plantation season is almost coming to the end.
Salt Trading Corporation Dhangadhi Depot, deputy general manager Keshav Prasad Pandey argued that the shortage was witnessed due to the negligence of the suppliers, but added that necessary arrangements were being made to manage the fertilizer soon.
It is stated that the Far-western region needs 12 thousand metric tonnes of chemical fertilizer this season.
