Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has announced that the Ministry of Finance will establish a dedicated ‘Response Desk’ to promptly address the concerns of industrialists and business leaders, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening investor confidence and creating a more business-friendly environment.
Speaking during an interaction with representatives of the private sector on Tuesday, Minister Wagle described the meeting as the beginning of a new phase of economic transformation driven by stronger cooperation between the government and businesses. He said issues raised by entrepreneurs would be immediately coordinated with the relevant agencies and taken forward for resolution.
“We are committed to building a work culture that focuses on solving problems rather than allowing them to linger,” Wagle said, emphasizing that the government intends to replace bureaucratic delays with a solution-oriented approach.
The finance minister identified new investment, new enterprises and an enabling business environment as the three key pillars of Nepal’s economic revival. According to him, significant progress in these areas would accelerate economic growth, create jobs, increase revenue, boost exports and strengthen the overall economy.
Wagle stressed that the government’s role is not to operate industries but to create favorable conditions for businesses to invest, expand and compete. He said authorities would focus on addressing practical challenges such as high production costs, low industrial capacity utilization and barriers affecting business operations.
He also assured entrepreneurs that protecting private investment and ensuring a reasonable return on investment remain among the government’s top priorities. “The success of the private sector is essential to the success of the national economy,” he said.
The minister further pledged to remove obstacles related to industrial land, electricity supply, labor, transportation, financing and raw materials, while making necessary legal reforms to improve Nepal’s investment climate and support sustainable industrial growth.
