The newly launched “Complaint Emailbox” system, introduced by Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal to directly receive and address public grievances, has seen an immediate response from citizens.
Minister Khanal shared on Tuesday that within just six hours of its launch, the system had already registered 166 emails. The initiative aims to spare citizens the hassle of visiting Singha Durbar in person to resolve issues.
In a social media post, Khanal said the total included messages sent both to the Ministry of Finance’s complaint mailbox and his official email. “Among the emails received, I have already responded to about two dozen, and action has been initiated in most cases,” he wrote. “The remaining emails will also be addressed as quickly as possible.”
Khanal expressed confidence that the digital mechanism would reduce procedural burdens for the public as well as institutions, while improving the government’s responsiveness to complaints.
