In the elections of FNCCI, the umbrella organization of the private sector, leaders of industrialists and businessmen have formed groups to contest the elections. It is seen that three groups will contest the elections in the upcoming elections of the FNCCI. In most of the previous elections, two groups have contested, but three panels have been formed in the upcoming elections.

According to the statute of the FNCCI, the senior vice president automatically becomes the president in the next term, so the competition for the election to the senior vice president is viewed with importance. After the general assembly, the current senior vice president Chandra Prasad Dhakal automatically becomes the president of the federation for three years.

Anjan Shrestha, Ramchandra Sanghai and Umesh Lal Shrestha will compete for the position of Senior Vice President in the 57th General Assembly and Election of the Federation to be held on April 12. The three aspirants will form their own panels and compete in the election. Unhealthy competition has been seen in the elections of the Federation. Ramchandra and Umesh Lal have even announced their panels, while Anjan has also formed a panel. From Anjan’s panel, Arunraj Sumargi is the district vice president, Manish Lal Pradhan is the objective vice president, and Prawal Jung Pandey is the associate vice president. Jyotsana Shrestha changed the group at the last moment when preparations were being made to make her the candidate for the associate vice president.

Surkrishna Vaidya is the district city vice president, Sakuntalal Hirachan is the objective vice president and Jyotsana Shrestha is the associate vice president from the panel of another senior vice president. Similarly, Dinesh Shrestha is the district city vice president, Hemraj Dhakal is the objective vice president and Bharat Acharya is the associate vice president from Umesh Lal Shrestha’s panel. The nomination papers of the candidates for the election are filed till 4th April (Tuesday) at 5 pm. Voting will be held on April 12.

According to the constitution of the federation, the senior vice president will automatically become the president in the next term. According to the constitution of the federation, there will be one president, one senior vice president, three vice presidents, and one treasurer. Similarly, 19 from the associate, 18 from the district and 12 from the objective will remain as central members. According to the federation, there will be 14 central members at the rate of two from each province.

In the election of the federation, there is a provision of 50 percent of votes of district, city, industry and commerce associations, 30 percent of associate members (including bilateral) and 20 percent of objective members. To win the position of senior vice president, more than 50 percent of the total votes are required. Any candidate for senior vice president in the first round of voting If 50 percent of the total votes cast cannot be obtained, there is a provision for the election to be held in the second phase. In the second phase, the candidates who get the first and second votes will compete again.
