During the meeting held at the Ministry, they discussed issues of mutual interest, the ministry said.

On the occasion, Acting Ambassador Rusek said that the assistance being provided by the German government for the development of Nepal’s energy sector would be expanded in the coming days. Stating that the German government has been providing assistance to Nepal in the field of alternative energy as well, he assured that it would move ahead by further cooperation in that field.

Stating that his government has provided financial assistance for the construction of Chilime-Trishuli and Lekhnath-Damauli 220 KV transmission lines, Ambassador Rusek inquired about the progress of the projects. Similarly, Acting Ambassador Rusek had also expressed interest in the electricity bill presented in the parliament.

In response, Minister Bhusal expressed confidence that the mutual relations between Nepal and Germany would be further deepened in the days to come and thanked the German government for its support in the social and economic fields.

She thanked Germany for its support in the construction of alternative energy and transmission lines and expressed confidence that it would continue to cooperate in the development of the energy sector.

On the occasion, Minister Bhusal assured that the financial and technical assistance received from Germany would be utilized in the right way. She thanked Germany for its assistance in post-earthquake reconstruction and control of the Covid-19 infection.

Officials from the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present on the occasion.
