With the onset of the Nepali New Year 2082, the domestic market witnessed a notable decline in gold prices on Tuesday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, the price of gold fell by Rs 1,700 per tola, settling at Rs 184,300 per tola. This marks a significant shift after a year-long upward trend in the precious metal’s value.
Over the past year, gold prices in Nepal had surged by Rs 47,000 per tola (11.664 grams), primarily driven by rising prices in the international market.
Silver also saw a decline, dropping by Rs 15 per tola. The price fell from Rs 1,960 on Sunday to Rs 1,945 on Tuesday.
The decline in both gold and silver prices comes at a time when global economic factors and market corrections are influencing the precious metals trade.
