The government has blacklisted 12 contractor companies and suppliers, according to a notice issued by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) on Thursday. The decision, made on Wednesday, was based on written statements provided by the relevant public agencies.
In line with Section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063 BS, the PPMO confirmed the blacklisting of these companies. The notice specifies that the affected contractors and suppliers are barred from participating in any procurement or bidding processes for periods ranging from six months to three years, depending on the severity of their cases.
The PPMO outlined that some companies have been blacklisted for three years, while others face bans lasting one year or six months. The request to blacklist these firms came from 12 public entities, including the Transport Infrastructure Directorate in Phidim, Panchthar; Nepal Telecom Central Office; the Department of Roads in Chaurjahari, Rukum West; the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office; and the Nepal Forest Corporation Limited.
