The National Transmission Grid Company (NTGC) has announced its collaboration with the private sector to construct the Lamabagar-Barhabise 220 kV transmission line. A notice has been issued inviting expressions of interest from hydropower companies involved in projects within the Lapche Khola and Rolwaling Khola corridors. Interested companies have 15 days to submit applications, which must include hydropower survey documents and production permits.
The project involves the construction of a 43.7-kilometer transmission line and a substation, with an estimated cost of Rs 5 billion. Netra Prasad Gyawali, CEO of NTGC, stated that a memorandum of understanding will be signed with selected private companies, and a subsidiary will be formed to execute the project. NTGC had previously partnered with the private sector on the Tamor-Dhungesanghu 220 kV transmission line, which is currently under construction.
