The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security has mandated that all foreign employment-related advertisements must now be published online.
According to a new directive from the Department of Labour and Occupational Safety, all such advertisements must now be published through the “Shram Sansar Employment Portal” (www.shramsansar.gov.np) and the “Shram Sansar App”.
A notice issued by the department on Tuesday stated that while the requirement to publish job ads in national daily newspapers—under Section 22(3) of the Foreign Employment Act, 2064 (2007) and Rule 7 of the Foreign Employment Regulations, 2064 (2007)—remains unchanged, it is now mandatory to also upload these ads to the Shram Sansar portal.
The department clarified that, since the Shram Sansar portal is now integrated with the Nagarik (citizen) app, the public can easily access and verify job advertisements online. The online publication has been made mandatory because citizens were unable to verify job ads published only in print via the citizen app.
All foreign employment agencies have been instructed to upload job ads on the Shram Sansar portal or app and ensure that complete details are provided.
This regulation, effective from June 13, states that any advertisement not uploaded online will be considered incomplete, and action will be taken as per the law.
