Kathmandu, March 25 : The government has traced the whereabouts of 125 people travelling in the same aircraft that carried the 19-year-old girl infected with COVID-19 and asked them to self-quarantine for 14 days. They all came from Doha to Kathmandu on March 17 in the Flight No QR 652 of Qatar Airways.
The police reportedly collected the names and addresses of all the passengers, who shared the flight with the coronavirus infected female, from the Department of Immigration. Though there were 158 passengers in total in the above-mentioned flight, the police have so far been able to contact only 125 of them.
According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Department of Health Services, all of those who were contacted are now in healthy condition. “However, if they show any symptom of coronavirus disease, we will collect their throat swab and conduct necessary tests,” it reportedly said.
Nepal recorded the first case of COVID-19 on January 23 after a male, who had returned from Wuhan, China, tested positive. The second such case related to the above-mentioned female was reported on March 23.
