Kathmandu, January 8: A total of 122 Chinese nationals, who were arrested for carrying out illegal activities in the capital, have finally been deported back to their own country.
Immigration Officer at Immigration Department, Pavan Gupta, informed that such Chinese, who came to Nepal on tourist visa, were sen back to China yesterday evening via plane.
Police had nabbed them from Manamaiju, Maharajguj, and Budhanilakantha of Kathmandu on December 23. They have filed a case on indecent behavior, to which, Chief District Officer in Kathmandu, Janak Raj Dahal, issued order to fine each Chinese national with Rs 1,000.
Following the District Administration Officer’s order, the police handed over the wrongdoers to the Immigration Department. Those living in Nepal expiring their visa term were fined Rs 2,000 each. The fine was provided by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal. The decision to expel them was made in line with the Immigration Act 2049 and Immigration Regulation 2051. RSS
