Stating that the government was working towards formulating Acts and laws for promotion of trade and commerce in the county, he assured that the current constitution has secured the rights of the entrepreneurs.
There are around 200 footwear manufactures associated with the Association that was established in 2013.
Also speaking at the event, Director at the Department of Industry Jivan Sedhai reaffirmed support from the side of State for the promotion of the industry and commerce.
He admitted that although the Industrial Enterprises Act-2073 was introduced in the country, industrialists were facing problems in lack of regulations and law.
Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industry’s former President Suresh Pradhan opined that the government should consider investment in the industrial sector to reduce the trade deficit.
Entrepreneurs such as Manoj Babu Shrestha,Bijaya Kumar Maharjan and Saroj Kumar Thapa among others voiced that the country should be industrial-oriented than import-oriented one and said that ambivalent provisions and laws regarding trade, commerce and industry should be amended time to time.
