Kathmandu, August 31 : With a rapid rise in the coronavirus cases in the country, the health care service is badly affected, the Ministry of Health and Population said. Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that they were struggling for the prevention and control of the disease amid the scarcity of the adequate means and resources. He requested called for each and every section of the society to lend support to fight the COVID-19 pandemic as protecting the society from is responsibility of all.
“Though the government is determined to provide the best possible health services to the people contracting the disease, the needs and expectations of them are yet to be effectively addressed ,” Dr Gautam said.
Dr Gautam further said that all should follow the safety protocol determined by the government since as many as 3,000 people might be infected after coming in contact with a singe person suffering the disease.
The spokesperson of the Ministry shared that the Ministry has directed the private and community hospitals to make coordination while referring the coronavirus infected patients undergoing treatment at ICU in the COVID-19 dedicated hospitals. He opined, “The hospitals referring patients without coordination should be responsible if there is any problem in the life of such patients.”
Similarly, the Ministry has directed the concerned hospitals to make arrangement of quarantine facilities for doctors, nurses and health professionals assigned for management of COVID-19, according to him.
