Six hotels listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a significant 79.26 percent growth in cumulative net profits in the last fiscal year (FY 2024/25), according to NEPSE data.
The combined profits of these hotels reached Rs 1.25 billion, up from Rs 700 million in the previous fiscal year. Among them, Soaltee Hotel led the sector with the highest earnings of Rs 670.70 million.
Other major profit earners included Taragaon Regency Hotels (Hyatt Regency) with Rs 515.40 million, Chandragiri Hills at Rs 210.80 million, and Oriental Hotels (Radisson) with Rs 30 million. In contrast, City Hotels reported a net loss of Rs 198.90 million.
Despite the profit surge, the hotels’ overall revenue declined marginally by 0.09 percent, dropping by Rs 6.20 million to Rs 6.96 billion during the review period.
Meanwhile, in the secondary market, the hotels and tourism group stood out as the only sector to post growth, with its market value rising by 1.23 percent last week.
