May 26 : The Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has on Monday (May 25) directed the government to keep the expansion of the broadband internet service in high priority while presenting the national budget for the next fiscal year-2020/21. budget.
According to the committee, the upcoming budget should allocate enough financial resources for rapid development and expansion of internet service throughout the country. “Such expansion will digitally facilitate vital sectors like education, health and industry, among others, to better cope with the adverse impacts of the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic.”
The committee also instructed the government and the Nepal Telecom Authority to pay attention to make a clear-cut action plan to expand quality internet service on time.
