Sindhupalchowk, October 30: After being halted for almost a month, the import from China via the Tatopani checkpoint has resumed on Thursday (October 29).
The Tatopani Customs Office informed that a container truck carrying apples entered the country from this northern border point that had been closed on September 27.
The office further said at least seven Chinese containers will bring in goods to Nepali yards from Friday. Chief District Officer in Sindhupalchowk, Umesh Kumar Dhakal, also said that since the import via the checkpoint has begun, the road department will immediately begin the task of road repair to facilitate the same. The COVID-19 pandemic and the rain-caused havoc were responsible for obstructing the this border point.
