Khotang, September 24 : Two of the three airports of Khotang district that have remained closed for over six months due to the lockdown are set to operate regular flights from coming Saturday. With the ease of the lockdown enforced by the government to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC)’s aircraft are operating regular flight services to and from the Khanidanda and Thamkharka airports.
The NAC has made public a work schedule to provide flight service from the Khanidanda airport twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday and once a week from the Thamkharka airport on Wednesday. Khanidanda airport is the closest one from the main commercial hub of the district Diktel Bazaar while Thamkharka airport is situated in the southern belt of the district.
A passenger has to pay Rs 4,740 as a one-way airfare for travelling from Khanidanda to Kathmandu, shared Khanidanda airport in-charge Nawaraj Katawal. According to him, the Khanidanda-Biratnagar flight which has been regular earlier would not operate for now. It is informed that Rs 4,385 has been determined as a one-way airfare for travelling from Thamkharka to Kathmandu route. RSS
