A case was filed at the apex court against the KMC for not evicting the materials, including advertisement hoarding boards, wall paintings, and posters from public places. According to KMC Spokesperson Iswar Dangol, a weeklong time was given to the concerned individuals and institutions on Monday for the removal of the materials. If removal was not done in the stipulated timeline, the KMC would do and take necessary actions against the ignorant, he added.

“The concerned side would be obliged to pay the costs involved in removing the boards”, he said. Four years ago, a divisional bench of the chief justice Kalyan Shrestha and justice Om Prakash Mishra had issued order to remove poster, pamphlet and wall painting from city house, wall, roof, electric poles, and road dividers and take preventive measures to not allow the re-use. Advocate Padma Bahadur Shrestha had filed a writ petition demanding action on contempt of court for not complying with the Supreme Court order for four years.
