May 30 : Leaders of different political parties have given mixed reaction to the budget presented by Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada at the joint session of the Federal parliament on Wednesday. The leaders also suggested to lay emphasis on implementation of the budget for coming fiscal year 2019/20 as it is overall good.
They said that increase in social security allowance of senior citizens, salary of employees, and increase in investment for physical infrastructure and social sector in the budget was positive. Former Finance Minister Surendra Pandey said that all should support to implement the budget as the budget has address many issues and sectors as well as it is good in overall.
He said, “The budget has begun a new history.” Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Dilendra Badu said that the budget could not give a new pace to overall economy as the budget is full of programmes for cheap popularity. “Increase in state’s investment in social and infrastructure sectors is positive. But it depends on how extent it is implemented,” he said.
Arguing the budget was very ambitious, leader of the Rastriya Janata Party, Rajendra Mahato, said that there are many challenges in its implementation. He said, “The budget has been scattered all around. Large amount of budget has been allocated for personal projects.” Saying a good budget has been brought to achieve economic prosperity, leader of Nepal Communist Party, Bhim Rawal stressed the need of implementation of goals and policies of the budget.
