Kathmandu November 23 : Nepal and Myanmar have established their first ever Chamber of Commerce the leadership of a renowned Nepali businessman, Mangeram Agrawal.
The businessmen in Yangon, Myanmar decided to set up Myanmar-Nepal Chamber of Commerce to promote business and investment between the two countries, according to media sources. Other executives of the Chamber include Vice Presidents Ko Ko Latt and Ganesh Baniya, General Secretary Aung Bo Bo, Joint Secretary Rajesh Bhusal and Treasurer Bishnu Wagle.
In the light of two governments preparing to sign a MoU on Cooperation of Trade and Investment soon, the establishment of Chamber is expected to play a crucial role in collaborating economic cooperation and business among private sectors.
Some members of the Chamber are participating at the Nepal Chamber Expo – 2018, being organized in Kathmandu from November 29 to December 2, 2018. Myanmar will be the Country Partner in Expo-2018 this year. A 20-member Chamber will have a term for two years, according to the sources.
The diplomatic relations between Nepal and Myanmar were established in 1960.
