Kathmandu, August 4: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has recently acquired permission from the Japanese Aviation Authority to operate two chartered flights to the Narita International Airport in Tokyo.
The chartered flights to Narita are expected to play a crucial role in promoting the country’s tourism in the Japanese capital and will also facilitate Nepalis based in Tokyo to travel home for Dashain and Tihar festivals.
The NAC will conduct two chartered flights- the first to the Japanese capital on September 26 and the second on October 2- through its two A330-200 wide-body aircraft.
It may be noted that the NAC has already announced to operate regular flights to Osaka from August 29. It has lessened airfare for Kathmandu-Osaka-Kathmandu flights as part of its promotional activity. The new fare for a one-way trip is Rs 37,000 and Rs 73,000 for round trip inclusive of all taxes. It had previously fixed the one-way flight fare at Rs 45,000 and Rs 75,000-90,000 for the round trip.
Nepal and Japan had inked the revised ASA on January 10, enabling Nepali airlines to fly to any international airport in Japan, except Haneda.
