The National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday unanimously passed the Tourism Bill, 2081 BS, endorsing a proposal presented by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anil Kumar Sinha.
Presenting the Bill, Minister Sinha told the Upper House that the legislation aims to diversify and promote Nepal’s tourism sector, making it more competitive and sustainable.
The meeting also adopted a condolence motion on the death of former National Assembly member Sukraraj Sanyok. Sanyok, who was elected to the NA in 2054 BS (1997/98) representing the Nepali Congress, passed away on February 2 at the age of 90.
The National Assembly is scheduled to reconvene at 1:15 pm on Wednesday, February 11.
