May 18 : The government has decided to extend the nationwide lockdown till June 2.
A Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar yesterday took this decision in order to tackle the increased risks of the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The lockdown, which was first enforced in the country on March 24, was to to end on Monday midnight, May 18.
The meeting also decided to continue the relaxation provided for various sectors like agriculture, industries, transportation and construction.
It may be noted that specific kinds of activities are being allowed during the lockdown by the concerned authorities in order to ensure that normal life did not get affected during the extended stay-at-home period.
