Construction works will be carried out in two shifts, including the night, the government’s annual policies and programmes stated.

“Arrangements will be made to carry out physical infrastructural works in two shifts. Humla district headquarters will be connected to the national road network. Priority will be accorded to the construction of corridors, including Mahakali and Karnali,” the annual policies and programmes highlighted.

The government has also pledged to complete the construction of the ongoing Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track road by 2026. Construction of restrooms and fresh houses along the national highway has also been put on priority.

“At least 1,000 well-equipped restrooms will be constructed in public places having a high flow of service seekers including in the urban and along the highway. This project will be undertaken in public-private partnerships,” policies and programmes stated.

Smart roadside stations will be constructed along the highways by adopting public-private partnerships.

Necessary legal measures will be put in place to regulate rider service providers who have been providing public transport service, the policy document further highlighted.
