Nepal has generated 600 MW of electricity in the last six months. According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, an additional 600 MW of electricity has been generated in 11 projects across the country till mid-January of the current fiscal year.
The government has set a target of generating 1,629 MW of electricity in the fiscal year 2078/79. In the previous fiscal year, the government had set a target of generating 1,300 MW. However, only 131 MW was generated at that time.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), 11 projects have generated 598 MW of electricity including solar power in the last six months.
Out of the electricity generated, 456 MW was generated by the subsidiary of NEA and 142 MW from the private sector.
According to NEA, 25 MW from Singati Khola Hydropower Project, 4.980 MW from Richet Khola, 456 MW from Upper Tamakoshi, 4 MW from Chandranigahapur Solar, 9.510 MW from Mai Beni, 20 MW from Lower Modi, 5 MW from Belchautara Solar, 6 MW from Lower Jogmai. The project has generated 200 MW, 4.52 MW from Likhu, 4 MW from Upper Chyangdi Khola and 11 MW from Lower Khare Power Project.
