COVID-19: 885 new cases countrywide with 301 in KTM valley alone

Kathmandu, August 25 : A total of 885 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country in the last 24 hours. Of them, 526 are men and 299 women. This takes the total tally in the country to 34,418. In the Kathmandu valley, 301 people tested positive to Corona Virus, including 230 in Kathmandu, 47 in Lalitpur and 18 in Bhaktapur district, said Ministry of Health and Population Spokesperson Dr Jageswar Gautam at the regular press meet today.

The new cases were confirmed in the 13,253 samples tested in the past 24 hours in different laboratories across the country. Likewise, 358 people returned home after recovering from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 19,504.

The recovery rate currently stands at 66.6 per cent. Of the total 14,739 active cases in the country, 8,711 are in institutional insolation centers while 6,028 are in home isolation.

Of them, 151 are undergoing treatment in Intensive Care Unit. Meanwhile, 11 people died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 175. Two women and nine men died today. RSS
