In response to complaints about rising prices due to limited supply, the government initiated this import. Baburam Adhikari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, stated that coordination with the Indian government is underway for the wheat import, and the Indian government has expressed a positive stance on the deal.

Additionally, the Ministry has urged industrialists not to raise prices on wheat products, warning that those who create an artificial shortage to justify price hikes will face penalties.
