The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has slightly decreased. According to NEPSE, the stock market index dropped by 5.60 points on Wednesday, settling at 2,628.26.
In today’s trading, shares of 314 companies totaling 8,147,320 units were bought and sold across 49,421 transactions. Recently, the volume of transactions in NEPSE has been consistently decreasing. Today, the transaction amount has shrunk to NPR 4.27 billion.
The Finance Group increased by 1.07%, Microfinance Group by 0.09%, and Trade Group by 0.50%, while the sub-indices of all other groups declined.
The Banking sector decreased by 0.36%, Development Banks by 0.16%, Hotels and Tourism by 0.42%, Hydropower by 0.36%, Investment by 0.32%, and Life Insurance by 0.33%.
Similarly, Manufacturing and Processing fell by 0.32%, Mutual Funds by 0.26%, Non-Life Insurance by 0.14%, and the Other group by 0.37%.
Shares of Upakar Microfinance Financial Institution Limited and Support Microfinance Financial Institution Limited hit a positive circuit today. Conversely, the share price of Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited dropped the most, falling by 9.90%.
Based on transaction amounts and the number of traded shares, the highest activity was seen in Janaki Finance Company Limited, with 171,486 shares traded for a total value of NPR 155.92 million.
