The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a slight increase on Wednesday. Continuing the trend from Tuesday, when the index had also risen slightly, NEPSE maintained its upward momentum.
On Wednesday, the NEPSE index increased by 1.86 points, reaching 2,685.73 points. The Sensitive Index rose by 0.25 points, while the Float Index increased by 0.26 points, and the Sensitive Float Index climbed by 0.24 points.
Along with the NEPSE index, the market transaction volume also showed significant growth. On the previous trading day, shares worth NPR 7.24 billion were traded, whereas on Wednesday, the transaction amount reached NPR 8.71 billion.
On this day, 155.2 million shares from 307 companies were traded in 82,805 transactions.
Based on transaction volume, NRN Infrastructure & Development topped the list with shares worth NPR 396 million traded.
Similarly, shares worth more than NPR 370 million were traded for CEDB Holdings, while River Falls Power saw transactions worth approximately NPR 315 million.
Among the 13 sub-indices, four showed an increase, while nine declined. The Finance sub-index saw the highest growth at 1.56%. Development Banks and the Investment sub-index also rose by more than 1%. The decline in the other sub-indices was less than 1%.
Despite a minor rise in the market index, transaction volume improved on Wednesday. Stocks showed mixed movements, with some companies experiencing a notable increase in their share prices.
