On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a positive movement, with the benchmark index rising by 17.80 points, closing at 2,775.85 points. The market opened at 2,758.04 points and reached an early high of 2,793.03 points within the first seven minutes. However, it later dipped to a low of 2,752.42 points before recovering and finishing the day up.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of ‘A’ class companies, experienced a slight drop of 0.58 points. The overall trading volume declined to Rs 8.52 billion, down from Rs 10.54 billion on Monday, indicating a drop in market activity.
Among the sector indices, seven showed gains, with the trading index rising by 301.75 points. The hotel and tourism sector, however, struggled, as its index dropped by 124.67 points.
In terms of individual stocks, 142 companies saw an increase in their market value, while 97 companies experienced declines. The company with the highest turnover was Ngadi Group Power Ltd, with shares worth Rs 267.43 million traded.
The biggest gainers on the day were Ingwa Hydropower Limited and Dibyashwori Hydropower Ltd, while the biggest loser was Upper Syange Hydropower Limited, whose market price fell by 9.51%.
