Kathmandu, June 16: Nepal Oli Corporation (NOC) has initiated the process to construct the first-ever fuel storage plant in Karnali province. For constructing the plant which can store the petroleum products enough for 90 days, the corporation plans to lease 250 ropanis of land in Surkhet, which is registered under the name of Nepal Trust.
After acquiring the land on lease, it will decide on the level of the storage capacity of the proposed plant, according to media reports.
It is believed that the proposed land is suitable for constructing the plant because of the easy access to roads and water from there.
The total demands of petrol and diesel in Karnali province stand at 20 thousand liters and 1,40,000 liter of diesel respectively. There are some 13 petrol pumps in the thirteen districts in the province.
