Kathmandu, September 3 : Chief Executive Officer of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), Sushil Gyawali left yesterday for South Korea to participate in the Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference. The conference is taking place on September 3 and 4.
It is organized by International Contractor s Association, Korea with the support of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea.
NRA CEO Gyewali will give a presentation on the reconstruction of urban areas on the occasion. His presentation will focused on the master plan of the heritage settlements within Kathmandu valley, their implementation modality and financial needs.
Also an expert on urban planning, CEO Gyawali will give a presentation on expansion of new cities in areas adjoining the heritage settlements. Participants from various countries around the globe will make presentations and hold discussions on urban and infrastructure development issues.
The government has announced six settlements in Kathmandu valley including Sankhu, Bungmati and Khokana as heritage settlements and is preparing comprehensive master plan through the NRA. Sixty heritage settlements have been identified in the earthquake-affected areas.
Project Director at the Central Project Implementation Unit (Building), Nawaraj Pyakurel, chief of the Development Assistance Coordination Section, Dibya Raj Pokharel among other officials are accompanying CEO Gyewali. He will return home on September 6. RSS
