Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is issuing treasury bills worth Rs. 6.23 billion on Tuesday. Monetary Management Department under the central bank is going to issue 91-day and 346-day treasury bills in order to obtain internal debt on behalf of the government.
The NRB will sell 91-day treasury bills worth Rs. 4.23 billion and 364-day treasury bills worth Rs. 2 billion through auction, according to the Treasury Bill Auction notice of the bank.
The bank said that the interested parties would have to submit their sealed auction trading application by 2 pm on August 21 (Monday).
The bidders should bid through Online Bidding System (OBS) only. Allocated amount will be settled through NRB Bank Account, it said.
The bank said that the treasury bills will be allocated on August 22 (Tuesday), 2023.
“Discount earning is taxable. Out of total offered amount, 15 per cent was reserved for non-competitive bidders,” the notice said.
The NRB will sell treasury bills to institutions offering low interest rates.
The 91-day treasury bills will mature on November 21, 2023 and 364-day treasury bills will mature on August 20, 2024.
