Kathmandu, October 7 : The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has collected the revenues amounting to a staggering Rs 55 million in less than a month through the online system.
The very system had been first applied in only 10 wards of the KMC on September 17 and was then implemented in all of its 35 wards on September 29.
Director of the Revenue Department, Shivaraj Adhikari, said,” The adoption of the digital method has made the determination and collection process of revenues effective and transparent.
There are basically two platforms, public and core, in the online tax system. The service recipients can use the public portal feature so that they can make a preliminary calculation of the taxes to be paid to the KMC from home. The system automatically generates the details of revenue to be paid after filling up the concerned form.
