The PATA Nepal Chapter has announced that it will host the historic Nepal India China Expo (NICE) from February 24 to 26, 2025, at the Pokhara Event Centre in Pokhara.
The event will be held in collaboration with several key partners, including the Nepal Tourism Board, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism of Gandaki Province, Pokhara Metropolitan City, Pokhara Tourism Council, and other public and private sector stakeholders at the local, provincial, national, and regional levels.
A press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday officially unveiled plans for the event.
Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhan Raj Acharya emphasized that NICE 2025 is set to be the largest event ever hosted in Pokhara, significantly boosting the city’s tourism industry and providing valuable promotion for its tourism sector.
Nepal Tourism Board CEO Deepak Raj Joshi described the expo as a landmark event, expected to bring together the world’s two largest outbound markets—India and China—in Nepal. He explained that the event will serve as a dynamic platform for connecting buyers and sellers, facilitating business deals, encouraging knowledge exchange, showcasing unique tourism experiences, and giving international buyers and influencers the chance to explore Nepal’s vibrant tourism offerings.
“This initiative is not just an event but a moment of pride for our nation. I encourage everyone to offer their full support to ensure its grand success,” said Joshi.
Sunil Bhattarai, NICE 2025 Convener and Executive Committee Member of PATA Nepal Chapter, highlighted that the expo will be the first-ever tri-nation tourism event, uniting tourism and hospitality professionals from Nepal, India, and China. He added that the event will provide unmatched networking opportunities, industry insights, and inspirational experiences.
PATA Nepal Chapter CEO Suresh Singh Budal expressed optimism that NICE 2025 would be a crucial event in increasing travel demand to Nepal from both India and China. “We anticipate over 1,000 delegates from all three countries, including more than 100 regional buyers, over 80 exhibitors, 15+ high-profile speakers, as well as numerous government officials, media representatives, trade visitors, and esteemed guests,” he said.
With the theme ‘NICE for MICE and More,’ the event aims to position Pokhara not only as a leading destination for trekking and adventure but also as an emerging hub for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), leisure tourism, and new tourism sectors.
