PPMO warns to blacklist nine construction companies, seeks clarification

 The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) issued a notice on Thursday asking nine construction companies to submit explanations within seven-days on recommendation of various bodies. The PPMO has warned that the companies will be blacklisted if they do not provide satisfactory explanations within seven days.

The PPMO under the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has asked the companies to furnish an explanation within seven days, explaining why they should not be blacklisted.

The PPMO has asked the companies for an explanation on the recommendation of various agencies of the Government of Nepal. These various bodies have recommended blacklisting these construction companies. The PPMO had earlier asked for an explanation by setting a deadline of 30 days. But after these companies did not appear with an explanation during this period, a deadline of seven days was given.

Among the companies that have been asked for an explanation are Pushpanjali Construction and Suppliers, Kathmandu, headed by Hari Dev Pandey, and New Bheri Engineering Workshop Surkhet headed by Begendra Jung Barmashakha. Bardaghat Municipality and New Kumakh Rural Municipality, Salyan respectively recommended these two companies to the blacklist of the PPMO.

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has recommended the blacklisting of Aravali Infrapower India. Based on that, this company has also been asked for an explanation within seven days. The main person of this company is Rakesh Jolly from New Delhi. Bhushan Thapa is the official person of this company in Nepal.

The PPMO has also asked Prem Krishna Shrestha of Pranish International Pvt Ltd, Kathmandu and Shyam Bahadur Jargamgar of Koshi Nirman Sewa, Kathmandu for explanation within seven days. These companies have been recommended to be blacklisted by Nepal Police Headquarters and Sunkoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhuli, respectively.

On the recommendation of the Road Improvement and Development Project Directorate of the Department of Roads, the PPMO has also sought clarification from Jagdish Chandra Agarwal and Dinesh Chandra R Agarwal of Infracon Pvt Ltd and Dan Bahadur Karki of JV Shankarmali Nirman Sewa. 

The PPMO has also asked clarifications from Rajkumar Rawat of Mama Bhanja Nirman Sewa, Udaipur, Dashrath Waiba of Satyashwori Construction Pvt Ltd, Kathmandu Prem Prasad Adhikari of Panchkhal Construction Pvt, New Baneshwar, Kathmandu,

These companies have been recommended to be blacklisted by Suryodaya Municipality Ilam, Indra Sarovar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur and Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office, Dhulikhel respectively. If these companies are listed in the blacklist, there is a provision that they will not be allowed to work in any public agency of the Government of Nepal during that period.
