SCWEC (Nepal) to honour the Best Nepali woman entrepreneur

Kathmandu, January 7 : For the first time, SCWEC Nepal Best Woman Entrepreneur Excellence Award ceremony is going to take place  in the capital to honour the woman entrepreneur making contribution to create socio-economic values  in the country.

SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council Nepal (SCWEC) informed that it is all set to host the ceremony at Alice Receptions in Gairidhara on January 11 in association with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

Rita Bhandari, Vice Chairperson, SCWEC, said,’Among the 10 finalist businesswomen nominated for the award, one will be bestowed upon with the title of Best Woman Entrepreneur of 2018.”

Any Nepali woman entrepreneur owing a business venture with at least US $ 50,000 as an annual turnover with minimum 10 employees were eligible to to vie for the said title.

 Nita Poudel, a member of the SCWEC,  told the conference a total of 35 Nepali women entrepreneurs apply for the excellence award.  According to her, the winner of the title will also be participating in Best SAARC Woman Entrepreneur of the Year –2018 competition to be held in Colombo, Sri-Lanka on March 2. It is also for the first time that such ceremony is taking place within the women entrepreneurs of SAARC countries.

Empowering the women communities in the SAARC region by recognizing their contributions to socio-economic growth of their respective countries  is said to be the cardinal objective of this regional award ceremony.
