Kathmandu, November 23 :Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd has been recognised as the biggest income taxpayer of the country for fiscal year 2018/19. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel honoured the company along with 14 other taxpayers for paying the highest amount of income taxes to the country amid a ceremony held on Sunday (November 22) to mark the 9th National Tax Day.

Vijay Kumar Shah, chairman of Jawalakhel Group of Industries, was felicitated for being the largest individual tax payer for fiscal year 2018/1.

In the category of exporters, Dabur Nepal Pvt Ltd was facilitated for being the largest taxpayer. Himal Power Ltd was acknowledged for being the largest taxpayer amongst the special industries. In the financial sector, Nabil Bank Ltd received the honour for paying the highest income tax in 2018/19.

Annapurna Agro Industries Pvt Ltd was facilitated for paying the highest tax among the agro and livestock industries, while Chhimek Laghubitta Bittaya Sanstha Ltd received the government accolade for being the highest tax payer from the cooperatives and microfinance sector.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd was honoured for paying the highest tax among the insurance companies, Manipal Education and Medical Group for paying the highest tax from the education service sector and IME Ltd for paying highest tax among the remittance companies.

Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd from the trading businesses and Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited from the tourism businesses also received the government felicitations as the biggest taxpayers.. Kamana Bikas Bank Ltd was honored for paying the highest income tax in fiscal year 2018/19 from among the taxpayers that are under the Medium Level Taxpayers Office, while VFS received the government honour for paying the highest tax from taxpayers across the inland revenue offices in the country.

Ghorahi Cement Industries Pvt Ltd was felicitated for paying the highest Value Added Tax in the last fiscal year.
