Doti, September 4: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, has inaugurated three airports of the Sudurpaschim State amidst a program here on Saturday (October 3). These airports, located at Patan of Baitadi, Chainpur of Bajhang, and Dipayal of Doti respectively in the state, will host regular flights.

At the programme, Minister Bhattarai said that such flights would help bring in more tourists at the Khaptad and Mansarobar areas. “Contracts are being made with some private airlines to conduct regular flights through these airports, he added.

Efforts are underway to construct terminal and ATC buildings for the airports in the Sudurpaschim State. A technical team will be sent from the Civil Aviation Authority to study whether the runway of Dipayal airport, in particular could be expanded to 1,000 meter from the present 490 meter,, according to the minister.
