Kathmandu, August 2-The market price of vehicles has seen a significant rise after the government fixed their excise duties as per the engine capacity from this new fiscal year.
The cost of two-wheelers increased up to Rs four hundred thousand, while the same of four-wheelers saw a rise up to Rs 5 million.
The budget presented for this fiscal 2018/19 has increased the excise duties of the motorbikes with engine capacity of above 150 cc and the cars/vans with engine capacity of above 1000 cc from 5 percent to 40 percent.
According to the National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA), the increase in excise duties and the road maintenance fee is responsible for making the price of automobiles dearer this year.
