Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Dilliram Adhikari said that the 4G service of the telecom will be upgraded.

Managing Director Adhikari also said that the testing 5G service will be carried out very soon. Managing Director Adhikari also mentioned that the installation of optical fiber across the country will be expedited. He also clarified that the NT will continue providing service in the coming days amid the corona pandemic.

Managing Director Adhikari said that there was a rumor of telecom tapping and urged everyone not to trust it.

Claiming that the NT does not have call tapping equipment, he said that Nepal Telecom does not tap phone calls. “There is no call tapping equipment,” he said.

“Permission is required from the Telecommunications Authority to import that equipment. We are a telecommunication service provider. We can’t buy equipment”, he added.

He said that the telecom is working with the responsibility of providing quality service at a reasonable price to all parts of the country.
