Foreign Employment Board director Rajan Shrestha argued that the government was working out to smoothen the process for easy return and create employment opportunities in the country. He shared that they had sent the money to manage the repatriation of stranded migrant workers but the government’s sole efforts will not be enough.

Similarly, National Human Rights Commission member Sudip Pathak and former secretary Purna Chandra Bhattarai drew the attention of the government over the migrant workers’ issues.

Speaking on the same occasion, NRNA vice chair Dr Badri KC shared that the NRNA was supporting the stranded migrant workers for their repatriation through their own efforts.

NRNA secretary RK Sharma, advisors duo TB Karki and Yam Kumar Gurung and spokesperson DB Chhetri also complained that the government was not found serious in migrant workers’ issues in this tough time caused by the pandemic.
