Chitwan, February 22: The Bharatpur metropolis has organized a four-wheeler rally in its bid to promote local tourism on Saturday (Feb 22). The rally scheduled from Bharatpur to Lumbini on the occasion of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 aimed to extend the invitation for the Bharatpur visit.
A total of 154 people joined the rally originated from the Narayani river bank. It was inaugurated by House of Representatives (HoR) members from the Chitwan constituency, Krishnabhakta Pokhrel, State Assembly members Ghanashyam Dahal and Bijay Subedi and Bharatpur’s mayor Renu Dahal. At Gaindakot, and Butwal, en route to Lumbini, local levels organized welcome programs for the rally participants.
According to mayor Dahal, the rally aimed to build an atmosphere for encouraging people to visit Bharatpur. Over 500 people who include people’s representatives, the business community, journalists, and tourism entrepreneurs have participated in the rally. Inside Bharatpur, 29 locations have been identified as major touristic destinations.
Megauli, Patihani, Bishajari Lake, Devghatdham, Gyaneshwor Block, Megauli are among those sites. Bishajari Lake and Patihani remain under a list of 100 touristic sites identified by the Federal Government in view of Visit Nepal Year and Meghauli is one of 10 sites identified by the Bagmati state government. The Bharatpur metropolis has formulated 32 tourism promotional programs for the current fiscal year and of them, 10 have been implemented, said, mayor Dahal.
Hotels inside the metropolis have announced a special discount package, targeting the Visit Nepal Year 2020.
