Nepal Airlines, the national flag carrier, will operate one daily flight to New Delhi, India, according to the international flight schedule released by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for the month of September, there will now be 10 flights a week in the Kathmandu-New Delhi route.
Nepal Airlines will operate one flight daily while Air India, the national flag carrier of India, has been allowed to operate this route three days a week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday). According to the Air Bubble Agreement, there were three flights a week to New Delhi. Initially, there were one and two flights a week after the prohibitory order, but now the daily flight schedule has been released according to the air bubble. The other two important destinations in India, Bangalore and Mumbai, however, remain uncertain. Nepal Airlines has been flying to nine destinations in seven countries, including three in India.
According to a departmental director of the corporation, daily flights to New Delhi destinations will bring a lot of relief to the passengers on the occasion of Dashain and it will also have a positive impact on the business of the corporation. As many Nepalis and Indians come from Delhi by air, it is believed that it will also help in the promotion of tourism. The tourist season has started in Nepal. During this time, a significant number of foreigners come to Nepal for trekking and mountaineering.
Air Arabia has also been allowed to operate two flights to Kathmandu every day. According to CAAN, the same airline has been allowed to fly from Abu Dhabi every day. Similarly, Fly Dubai will operate 10 flights a week to Kathmandu.
Himalaya Airlines, which has been operating international flights from Nepal, will operate six flights a week to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The same airline has been allowed to operate six flights a week to Dubai. Similarly, Himalaya Airlines has been allowed to fly a total of seven flights a week to Qatar.
Jazeera Airways will fly to Kathmandu every day. Korean Air will fly to Kathmandu one day a week (Wednesday). Malindo Air will fly from Kuala Lumpur four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday). It has been mentioned in the flight schedule issued by the CAAN that, Malaysian Airlines will operate flights every Saturday in Kuala Lumpur- Kathmandu route.
Nepal Airlines will operate one flight a day to Hamad International, Qatar. Nepal Airlines is scheduled to fly four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday) from Dubai International Airport. The airline will operate four flights a week to Kuala Lumpur. Nepal Airlines will fly to Narita, Japan every Thursday. There will also be flights to Hong Kong every Tuesday.
Similarly, Qatar Airways has been allowed three daily flights from Hamad International Airport in Qatar. Salaam Air will fly from Muscat Airport to Kathmandu three days a week. Turkish Air will fly to Kathmandu three days a week (Monday, Thursday and Saturday). Singapore Airlines is allowed to operate every Sunday and SriLankan Airlines on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This flight schedule will be valid until September 30. Now CAAN will soon release the winter flights schedule. At present, 12 airlines, including two Nepalis, have been operating international flights.
