Kathmandu, July 14: Everest Hotel is planning to resume its operations within this year, according to reports.
The hotel has been closed for the last four years for renovation work. The government had issued a “red sticker” to it as its building suffered major cracks during the devastating earthquakes of 2015.
The hotel management is learned to have recently issued a notice to its workers calling them to rejoin with renovation work nearing the completion. Similarly, the hotel has also already issued a vacancy advertisement for 30 different positions in seven departments, it is reported.
Everest Hotel was also mired in legal controversy in 2015 with its staffers filing a case against it at the labor court claiming that its management had failed to clear their dues. Nevertheless, the dispute was settled in February this year with the hotel and management and agitating workers finally striking a deal.
Established in 1987, the hotel boasts of a total of 160 rooms.
