A police squad of Parsa impounded a truck laden with illegally-imported goods worth amounting to Rs 16.3 million from Birgunj metropolis-8.
The police had taken control of the truck (Na 4 Kha 8334) en route to Butwal from Birgunj with the goods illegally imported from India evading revenue. The police team also arrested the truck driver with illegally-imported goods for further investigation and action.
Spokesperson of Parsa District Police Office, DSP Om Prakash Khanal informed that both the truck and driver were handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office, Pathalaiya on Wednesday for further action.
Cameras used for tiger census go missing from national park Nine cameras that were installed for tiger count at Parsa National Park have gone missing.
A total of 23 cameras were put up at the national park for the tiger census, shared by the park employees. It is speculated that the cameras were stolen from the national park forest.
