Govt to accept Rs 366 million grant from Japan

The government has decided to accept the grant of Japanese Yen 376 million (approximately Rs 366 million) from the Government of Japan for the human resources development of Nepal.

The decision to accept the grant from Japan was informed by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology and the government’s spokesperson, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

Similarly, the meeting of the Council of Ministers on June 14 approved the resignation by Chair of the Public Expenditure Review Committee (PERC), Bhim Kumar Ojha. It has decided to appoint a retired government employee Mohan Krishna Sapkota to the post of chair of the PERC.

It was decided in the Cabinet meeting to provide lands at Belkotgadhi Municipality of Nuwakot district for the Millennium Challenge Account Nepal to construct the Ratmate substation.

Similarly, the Cabinet decided to nominate Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Rajeshwor Gyawali as chair of the Rastriya Beema Company Limited and a talk team led by Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Dr Narayan Prasad Regmi will be formed for participation in the Bilateral Trade Talk between Nepal and Bhutan on behalf of Nepal.

The Talk will be organised virtually on June 20. It was decided to endorse the bilateral labour agreement between the Governments of Nepal and the United Kingdom and appoint Suresh Raj Joshi and Mahendra Kumar Thapa as chair and member secretary respectively of the Taragaun Development Committee.

Similarly, the private housing reconstruction will continue until July 16 while the action plan, 2078 related to the registration and leasing of government lands, the procedure, 2078 related to the auction and sale of government properties and goods and the standards, 2078 relating to treatment expenditure, reliefs and monetary assistances will be endorsed.
